Description
The Pencil Box is a desk organizer designed specifically for the IKEA PÅHL children’s desk. It sits directly on the desk’s side railings, making use of the built-in structure to keep pens, pencils, markers, and small supplies within reach without taking up workspace.
The box is shaped as a pencil in silhouette — the front and back faces follow the recognizable pencil profile, while the interior is a clean rectangular container open at the top for easy access. There is no lid. The form is intentional: functional enough for daily use, playful enough to belong on a kid’s desk.
The multicolor version is the main way to print this model. It consists of 11 parts total: a base and 10 separate color pieces (2 wooden tips, 2 color tips, and 6 color stripes) that simply glue onto the base once printed. Super glue works best; craft glue is fine too. The result is a fully colored pencil with distinct sections — no painting required.
For a simpler build, the base can be printed on its own in any color and decorated with acrylic paint or paint markers. This is also a great activity to do with kids — let them paint and personalize their own pencil box.
Both approaches use the same files.
Compatible with the IKEA PÅHL desk railing system.
